The Affiliate Advisory Council acts as an advisory body to support the continuing transformation of NAEYC’s Affiliate structure into a high-performing, inclusive organization. The Council advises the NAEYC Governing Board and national staff about all issues related to Affiliates and members, and to identify and develop strong, inclusive leadership.
To serve on the Council, applicants must be a member in good-standing as of February 1, 2022 and have a solid understanding of the NAEYC Affiliate structure, the ability to participate in monthly virtual meetings, ad hoc work groups, and up to three in-person meetings each year, plus a demonstrated commitment to NAEYC’s Advancing Equity in Early Childhood Education position statement. We need you—your experience and expertise as NAEYC members and leaders in the early childhood field—in our organization.
Submitting a Short Video (Optional)
We recognize some individuals express themselves better through writing while others may prefer speaking. Therefore, the Council has included the option of submitting a short video (60-90 seconds in English) in addition to completing the online application. Submitting the optional 60-90 second video will not alter or enhance the chance of appointment. Video content may be a reflection, example, or experience with an affiliate, or an additional thought or reflection about one or more of the candidate’s responses to application questions.

Para formar parte del Consejo, los solicitantes deben tener:
- Membresía activa de NAEYC
- Conocimiento sólido de la estructura de asociaciones afiliadas de la NAEYC
- La capacidad para participar en reuniones virtuales mensuales, grupos de trabajo ad hoc y hasta tres reuniones en persona por año
- Compromiso demostrado con la Declaración de Posición para Promover la Equidad en la Educación Infantil de NAEYC, al igual que con la declaración de compromiso como una organización inclusiva de alto desempeño de NAEYC.
